Its been half a year since i last blogged.

amazing how fast time flies, I've celebrated my 21st, my 1st yr @ CS, got my Loewe, and then coach,prada & Gucci...., coffee is turning 3 next month. how fast, she was just a little puppy when she came...

recently, i am starting to think about my future, what i wan to do, where i wan to be, how do i want my life to turn out. i am starting to get sick of my job, my r/s and the way my life is right now. life is presenting me a whole set of opportunities right now, new job, new guy and even the chance of a brand new life. In this pursuit to material wealth, am I about to give up my roots and the one who supported me all these while. Will i quit my job, and go back to full time schooling just like he has planned for me. will i even choose him in the first place. what will i tell the other, what about the future we have always spoke about? what should i do?

whatever decision i make, all i hope is to be happy.

Hello everyone!

Happy CNY!!
It seemed to have passed in a flash!.

Maybe its because I worked thru it. Not as bad as I thought it would feel though.

And then came Valentine's Day. Not much of a suprise since Denis is outta town. Received a bouquet of Roses from him. Have already told him the best present he could give me is cash hence he transferred money to me. Hehe. Loewe - I'm coming to buy you on Tuesday! I cant wait!!!

Finally on the 15th, my long awaited bonus came into my bank acct. Frankly, I wasnt looking to expect much. Since I joined the firm for only half a year hence once pro rated, the bonus should be quite a pathetic sum. However, when I saw the letter in end Jan, I was so delighted. CS loves me. I feel for once, appreciated. It is worth my late nights, my social life, my tears and anger. And on top of that fat bonus, they are giving me a payrise. A payrise that I know, no one else will make ever me, at least at this point in my life. A payrise that I am very candid when I say, I know I will not leave CS. How can I ever..

I went to Cheryl's place last night for Steamboat. As usual, Coffee and Cookie were playing like no tomorrow. And then it was Mahjong while the doggies napped. The food was good and Coffee loves going to Cheryl's place.

The girls are coming to my place later on! Mummy was busy in the kitchen since morning making meat rolls, preparing the items for steamboat, plus she is cooking fish and her very very nice noodles. Super looking forward to have the girls over!!

hello!
Sry for the blogging hitus, been really busy,
(ok i admit its excuses, i am lazy)
I ate so much today,
had lunch with the girls at Park Royal,
my favourite Soft shell crab was as nice as ever,
The girls ate quite a bit too!!

came home and bathed baby Coffee and off we were to visit Cheryl who just discharged today.
She had and op done on wed to remove a cyst in her womb.
Coffee and Cookie played while the rest of us Mahjong-ed.

then the patient decided she wanted supper at 12am.
Dim sum @ Geylang her fav 126.
Quickly divided ourselves comfortably into 3 cars and we were at 126 not long after!
Had my fav chee chong fun, xiu mai, har gao, guo tie , barley and many many more!
Coffee even tried prawn roll, she loves it! Cookie too!!
So full and satisfied. Cheryl and Roger then sent Me Lulu and Coffee home!

So sleepy now, I'm off to bed,
Coffee's sleeping very sweetly now from the exciting evening earlier.
Joan's coming over tmr for some girl talk.

Today is officially my 5 months at CS
How fast! I am having a blast at work life
although highly demanding and stressful,
I LOVE MY JOB!

Cheryl drove me home from work today,
how sweet of her.
We parked at our office's carpark today
and we were only at work for less than 5 hours.
The damn parking charges was like 27 bucks!

Goodness me.
How expensive!
hehehe... it also justify my just-Take-cab principal.
but oh well, weekend work doesnt pay too bad.

I'm off to bed, taking Coffee along to Mindy's hse tomorrow

Thats is approx 69 hours in a week.

far exceeding the recommended 42 hours work week.

I am so tired.

I think i am more worthy than anyone else to say this.

esp the transition from wed to thurs. I was dead tired.

I know its a heartache for bf to see me like this.

I am due to be in work at 8.30am tomorrow on a Saturday.

But i told boss i am not going in.

Hello,

work week number 5 is over.

And i am loving my job more than ever.

its been quite tiring,

having to work until 2am on wednesday and having to attand 9am financial training sessions on thurs. we barely slept for 3 hours and not surprising we sat at the back of the class and slept thru it.

my boss decided on a new counterparty split and has given me more difficult counterparties to take on.

So now, I am in charge of,

- JPMorgan Chase Bank New York

- The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS)

- ABN Amro Bank

- Morgan Stanley

Huge investments banks that located wayy off singapore.

so happy tat boss feels I am up to such a task.

Satisfation yes, but extremely busy.

But I still thankful,

that at just merely 20 years of age, here i am, competing with the rest who are wayy older than I am,

and being to be able to stand strong in what i believe in.
and doing what I love.

Yesterday I went to the UOB near my office,

cos all the colleagues wanted to apply for CreditCards.

I wanted the UOB Lady's Platinum Card.

But the minimum age requirement is 21.

hence, Dalph asked the lady at the counter.

*pointing at me*

She is only 20, but her annual income is more than the required 50k per annum.

Can she apply?

now,

which part of that question sounds abnormal?

cant a 20 year old earn more than 5ok a year?

anything wrong with that?

because

the customer at the next counter who was applying for her own CC,

looked up and showed me a very digusted face.

The rest laughed

probably that lady who was applying (looked like in her late 20's)

was earning only around 30k per annum which is the requirement for the most basic card.

Jealous? probably.

anyways,

I cant apply.

she said I could try but most probably It will be rejected cos I am still a minor in eyes of the law.

Fuck.

I am earning as much as the other whom the banks give 6 CCs to.

for once it sux to be young.

oh well not that bother too.

I'm making so much investment plans that I can never phantom.

I'm starting to talk abt savings and planning to save.

For a start I am planning to save 1250 a month,

(not a very large figure, but its practical)

and lets see where I am at one year from now.

I just cant wait to turn 21 next year.

then i can buy shares and apply for CC.

but until then, I am saving for my capital to start investing.

Its been a tiring and sick week.

Last Sunday,
Me Mum and Lulu went shopping,

Mom got, 2 dresses & 1 3/4Jeans,
Lulu got, 2 tops, 1 sweater & 1 Jeans,
Fion got, 3 tops, 3 formal work pants, & 2 knee length shorts,

Total damage, 500 from Fion & 100 from Mum.

Anyways,
I am so very sick this week,
I was on medical leave on Thurs,
Him being the absolute nice guy he was,
bought me bottles after bottles of barley, crysanthemum & whats not from the chinese medical hall near his place.

and to my horror, i went back to work on Friday to see 146 unread mails from my counterparties.
Busy busy busy,
but they were quite understanding as they knew i was quite sick,
esp the one from JPMorgan Chase Bank N.A.

so sweet loh,
send me get well msg lol!!

my flu is quite bad,
everytime i blow my nose i see blood!
and its really all blood that kind.

even my dear naughty coffee looks worried everytime i sneeze.

He is also been affected by my virus,

week 3 at work is over.

juggling between tons of work,

deadlines,

trainning sessions & product elearning lessons,

plus,

late night partying @ nearby ZOUK on ladies night,

my body clock is going haywire.

I woke up at freaking 4.05 in the afternoon.
and I am still wide awake now.

my mom says this is the price to pay,
for working London hours.

i slept more than half my saturday away.
but after 11 odd hours of sleep,
i feel so recharged.
I have been so deprived of sleep the past week.

plus,
my coffee can walk off leash today.
mummy & I tried her,
remove her leash @ the basketball court in the park,
and she ran all over,
but when we called her,
she ran back to us!
& demanded bellyrub

so cute~!

I just have to trust her more.
my mom trusts her even more than i do.

I am just home after work and satay @ Lau Pa Sat.
Left office and Dalphane, Elaine & myself went to satisfy our satay craving..
so happy LPS is opp only! so many yummy food.

paycheck is in and although i only worked for 10 days lol.
1.3k w/o shift allowance yet, not bad at all.
using it sparingly should be able to last me until 24th July for my next paycheck which I foresee is will at least 4k cos of the accumulated shift allowance from this mth.

work is so tiring!!
all i ever do each day is sleep, go work, sleep, go work
completely no social life.
my colleagues and I are so deeply bonded ok.
I speak to them much more than even my own family
(i dun even get to see mummy or lulu on weekdays ): )

and yes,
have i told you,
i have been so lazy lately
i even cab to work lol.

my cab fare home tonight was 29.40
5 bucks more ex than usual ):
traffic jam & road block @ the entrence of CTE at freaking 2.30am!!!

and yes i rewarded myself with a pair of heels which i kind of regret buying
cos it is wayyy too high to walk around in,
its probably 4 inches, not smth comfortable for a whole day at work.
how? but its super pretty! and it looks 5 times more than it cost,
not that it is cheap though!

Work is tiring,

working @ CS is extremely.

I was on APAC shift the whole of this week,

sucks having to wake up freaking early and squeezing MRT with the rest of the working adults.

thank God my boss is so sweet,

I am back on London starting mondays.

No more early mornings and Squeezing,

and my gfs are also on London as well,

happy!!

the people @ CS are so friendly and sweet,

the culture is so different,

maybe cos where I work comprises of mainly foreigners

esp the swiss, british & those from down under.

its really worlds apart from the world's local bank where i temp-ed.

everyone seems so happy to be here,

they make work seem like so much fun,

there are no barriers between us,the line manager or even the boss

who happens to sit next to me.

it makes working so much easier, and happier

oh ya, where i am sitting faces the temp stadium for National day,

I have the perfect unblocked view from the 24th floor.

and i am working on national day,

some people are paying big money for high level hotel rooms to see the firework,

but they dun even get as close as my office.

HAHAHA!

Back to where i was,

APAC shift is supposed to end at 6 but no one ever leaves at 6,

or for that matter, 7 or 8.

one of my gfs who is already doing London leaves office at 3.30am everyday

But I am not complainning,

its not easy to get in here,

in an enviornment where ur colleagues mostly are degree,

honours & MBA holders, I feel so small,

but so lucky to be given a chance to be a part of them.

plus, I have good friends @ work,

who makes the trainning and elearns we have to complete, so much easier

we motive each other every single morning,

& its "we're always here for you! "

dinner dates with my girls are always fun.

we had dinner at thai express and the bill came up to almost 70 bucks.

the service was horrible though,

waiting time could kill.

full and satisfied cos earlier on, me and felicia tay had tim sum @ marina sq prior to meeting the other 2..

anyways,

we had a lot of fun, and laughter as usual.

our storyteller of the month had a lot of stories to share

about her and the very elite *ahem* haha

and the other one had a lot of views on her potiential boyfriend,

Somehow the stuff we talk about nowadays wholely revolve around bfs, marriage, kids and career...

we have even decided the names of our sons.

my family is crazy.

last night we had steamboat for dinner.

the weather is freaking hot, and

the 7 of us were sweating like hell as we were eating.

but it was fun.

aunty susan made very nice fishcakes..

the family is heading for Hong Kong this year end,

because I was so looking forward to going,

so, my uncle said, we are all going to HK in December.

When I was a puppy, I entertained you with my antics and made you laugh.
You called me your child, and despite a number of chewed shoes and a couple of murdered throw pillows, I became your best friend.
Whenever I was "bad," you'd shake your finger at me and ask "How could you?" -- but then you'd relent and roll me over for a bellyrub.

My housebreaking took a little longer than expected, because you were terribly busy, but we worked on that together.
I remember those nights of nuzzling you in bed and listening to your confidences and secret dreams, and I believed that life could not be any more perfect.
We went for long walks and runs in the park, car rides, stops for ice cream (I only got the cone because "ice cream is bad for dogs" you said), and I took long naps in the sun waiting for you to come home at the end of the day.

Gradually, you began spending more time at work and on your career, and more time searching for a human mate.
I waited for you patiently, comforted you through heartbreaks and disappointments, never chided you about bad decisions, and romped with glee at your homecomings, and when you fell in love.

She, now your wife, is not a "dog person" -- still I welcomed her into our home, tried to show her affection, and obeyed her.
I was happy because you were happy.
Then the human babies came along and I shared your excitement.

I was fascinated by their pinkness, how they smelled, and I wanted to mother them, too.
Only she and you worried that I might hurt them, and I spent most of my time banished to another room, or to a dog crate.
Oh, how I wanted to love them, but I became a "prisoner of love."

As they began to grow, I became their friend.
They clung to my fur and pulled themselves up on wobbly legs, poked fingers in my eyes, investigated my ears, and gave me kisses on my nose.
I loved everything about them and their touch -- because your touch was now so infrequent -- and I would've defended them with my life if need be.
I would sneak into their beds and listen to their worries and secret dreams, and together we waited for the sound of your car in the driveway.

There had been a time, when others asked you if you had a dog, that you produced a photo of me from your wallet and told them stories about me.
These past few years, you just answered "yes" and changed the subject.
I had gone from being "your dog" to "just a dog," and you resented every expenditure on my behalf.

Now, you have a new career opportunity in another city, and you and they will be moving to an apartment that does not allow pets.
You've made the right decision for your "family," but there was a time when I was your only family.
I was excited about the car ride until we arrived at the animal shelter.

It smelled of dogs and cats, of fear, of hopelessness.
You filled out the paperwork and said "I know you will find a good home for her."
They shrugged and gave you a pained look.
They understand the realities facing a middle-aged dog, even one with "papers."
You had to pry your son's fingers loose from my collar as he screamed "No, Daddy! Please don't let them take my dog!"
And I worried for him, and what lessons you had just taught him about friendship and loyalty, about love and responsibility, and about respect for all life.
You gave me a good-bye pat on the head, avoided my eyes, and politely refused to take my collar and leash with you.
You had a deadline to meet and now I have one, too.

After you left, the two nice ladies said you probably knew about your upcoming move months ago and made no attempt to find me another good home.
They shook their heads and asked "How could you?" They are as attentive to us here in the shelter as their busy schedules allow.
They feed us, of course, but I lost my appetite days ago.

At first, whenever anyone passed my pen, I rushed to the front, hoping it was you that you had changed your mind -- that this was all a bad dream... or I hoped it would at least be someone who cared, anyone who might save me.

When I realized I could not compete with the frolicking for attention of happy puppies, oblivious to their own fate, I retreated to a far corner and waited.

I heard her footsteps as she came for me at the end of the day, and I padded along the aisle after her to a separate room.
A blissfully quiet room.
She placed me on the table and rubbed my ears, and told me not to worry.
My heart pounded in anticipation of what was to come, but there was also a sense of relief.

The prisoner of love had run out of days.
As is my nature, I was more concerned about her.
The burden which she bears weighs heavily on her, and I know that, the same way I knew your every mood.
She gently placed a tourniquet around my foreleg as a tear ran down her cheek.
I licked her hand in the same way I used to comfort you so many years ago.
She expertly slid the hypodermic needle into my vein.
As I felt the sting and the cool liquid coursing through my body, I lay down sleepily, looked into her kind eyes and murmured "How could you?"
Perhaps because she understood my dog speak, she said "I'm so sorry."
She hugged me, and hurriedly explained it was her job to make sure I went to a better place, where I wouldn't be ignored or abused or abandoned, or have to fend for myself -- a place of love and light so very different from this earthly place.

And with my last bit of energy, I tried to convey to her with a thump of my tail that my "How could you?" was not directed at her.

It was directed at you, My Beloved Master, I was thinking of you.
I will think of you and wait for you forever.
May everyone in your life continue to show you so much loyalty.

After Dalp called me to tell me abt the offer letter,
I cant seem to sleep.

the pressure from the job can be felt even before i start work.

Immensly stressful, like saturated until the max.

I dunno if i can make it thru the 3 months probation,
or if the external vendors hired by CS can find faults in my resume.

I dunno if i can perform well,
or if I can survive the high expectations, goals & demands of my job nature.
but I know very clearly,
for even if i cannot, I must.

behind all that glamour of securing a well paying job,
one that pays even more than a first class honours degree holder would get,
there is this side of me no one knows...

a side of me i wish no one sees...

the stress is building up,
right from the day i stepped into CS for the aptitude test.

I am usually very self confident, very full of myself.
But for now, I would like to let this sense of unsureness envelope me.
let me mourn for the life I am about to embark on.

In the pursuit to material wealth, success & self affirmation,
what I gainned?

Is it really more worthy that what I am about to lose??

only time can tell...

I only hope it will not be too late, when i finally realise...

last night,

Choong, Niki & myself

were MSN mass convo-ing.

And as usual we were talking about

our very beloved furfriends, DOGS.

Niki was talking abt people who buy dogs,

and then give them up.

because they realise its not suitable for them.

And I am very very very upset to hear such stuff.

I am super against people,

who do not do adequate research b4 getting a dog.

If the reason you are getting THAT puppy just because it looks cute,

wake up,

because THAT puppy will grow up in less than a year,

and THAT puppy will no longer be cute.

will you still love THAT puppy?

the same goes for adoption.

Reading up and knowing exectly how ur dog will behave is essential.

different breeds have different characteritics.

And not all small dogs, behave the same way.

The classic example would be a Maltese & Jack Russel.

while the former is laidback, and requires a lot of grooming time per day,

the latter demands more attention for play time, and very much lesser grooming.

plus, it not just about finding the right dog to suit ur lifestyle,

you need to think about other practical factors like,

1. Family

Your parents/spouse and siblings may like dogs.

They probably dun mind petting any furfriends they meet on the road.

But liking and living with one is completely different.

Will they be able to take it, if ur new furfriend pees on their bed,

will they be able to take it, if ur new furfriend decides to chew on that expensive sofa.

These will happen because it takes time to train a dog, and even so,

I am sad to say even until today my girl loves peeing on the rugs she sees at home.

( but she only does that when my mom chats on the phone & Mafia feels she is being neglected)

2. Finances

If you think buying a $900 pure bred puppy is expensive.

You probably wanna think twice before getting one.

because dogs are not cheap to maintain.

Good kibbles can cost you about $150 for a 15kg pack

(Mafia is eating TimberWolf Organic - Ocean Blue, which is one of the most expensive but best kibbles & a pack can last me 6 months, because she take only very little kibbles as the spoilt one is on Home cooked food)

Mafia's Home Cooked Food varies depending on my mom's mood.

But as a rough guide,

my mom goes to the wet market for, fresh minced beef & pork, pork fillets, carrots, potatoes, corns, pork liver, brown rice, papaya & apples every Sunday morning for her precious baby.

The other expensive thing is Vet visits.

My girl's prev owner brought her to the best- Mount Pleasant Animal Hospital

hence, I am continuing that.

It cost me a whole damn lot, and i have spent close to $400 on her medical bills so far, but no complaints

3. Time

Can you afford time to spend with ur little furfriend.

They need daily walks no matter the size of ur house.

Mafia goes for her walks 4 times a day.

5am ( mom takes her) , 10am, 3pm, 8pm.

I also spend at least an hour each day combing her fur to make sure no matts.

plus u need to spend time to play with them daily.

Mafia and I play with her squeaky toys every afternoon.

My mom & brother play with her the moment they are home at 7 until she goes to bed at 10.

So much responsibilty, and compromise in my life because of her,

but if you asked me, would I still choose to adopt her if I could choose all over again,

My answer is yes. Definately!

Becaue it is all worth it, when u see her wagging her tail, while looking at you.

wagging her tail because she is happy u are home,

kissing u in the morning because she is happy u are awake.

because of her, I am now able to take time off to smell the roses

during our daily walks in the park,

because of her, i made friends with a lot of fellow doggie owners who live nearby

because of her, i understand wat responsibility is.

because of her, I am forever Changed~

I hope that this helped you, to realise if your lifestyle, is indeed suitable to own one.

If you really have to buy a puppy, pls only get one from a SKC certified breeder.

& finally it just dawned on me,

A Tribute to HIM

4 years ago on this very day,

I lost someone very dear to me.

I remember that particular morning,

when the alarm rang at 5am for school,

I received a call on the hp.

Mummy called, to say he has just left us.

I asked if I could miss school today,

I dun have any mood to go to class.

Mummy said No, Fion, you come over after class.

I cried in the shower.

Me & Lulu cried as we were putting on our school shoes.

The busride that morning was extremely long.

I couldnt stop the tears from falling down my cheeks,

as I travelled along that very familar highway.

He is gone.

I didnt even get a last chance to see him.

Never even said goodbye.

Couldnt even visit him at the hospital.

Because it was the SARS period &

every patient could only have 2 visitors.

No goodbyes.

No chance to say I'm sorry

Never again able to say I love You.

He is gone.

Today is my grandpa's 4th death anniversary.

Dear gong gong,

Time flies amazingly fast, its been 4 years since.

I just wan to say, I miss you a lot.

& I am so grateful for everything you have done in the past

for me & with me.

For being there all the times when my parents couldnt.

For taking on the father role because my dad couldnt.

For bringing me up, to be a person with good morals

and strong principles.

If only you were still around,

I know you would be so proud of me.

I really did study hard @ poly to be where I am.

Little Mafia went for her grooming yesterday.

& APC is really really good.

I stood outside the grooming room thruout to make sure Mafia was in good hands,

& I am a newly converted APC fan.

Annie was super sweet to Little Mafia

& her hubs gave Mafia a squeeky toy for being well behaved

Annie even called Mafia, darling and kissed her.

Real sincerity shows and it puts my mind at ease to have Mafia take APC's transport and do her future groomings. Because I know she will be safe and well taken care off.

pretty pick ribbon Annie tied, pity Mafia messed it up, as usual.

I dun understand how she can look like that when she just completed her grooming 1 hr ago,

she played like mad that is for sure..
